Blessing Bags for Victims of Domestic Violence
Zenobia Bridges Washington recently spearheaded one of the first mission outreach projects for 2017 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Baton Rouge, LA. Rev. Gary Peterson is the pastor of Calvary. Members of the congregation contributed and provided 50 individual Blessing Bags filled with basic hygienic supplies for women and children who have escaped situations of domestic violence and abuse within their households.

Ziehr 60th Wedding Anniversary
Rev. Richard Ziehr and his wife, Connie, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on August 25. They currently reside in Texas, although Rev. Ziehr’s entire ministry was in the Southern District.
Three Hots and a Cot
Solid Rock in Argo, AL, has started a ministry with Three Hots and a Cot. Every three months, we gather needed items. We are benefitting veterans who have served our country and are seeking employment and looking for a place to live. We enjoy helping our veterans, and everyone at Solid Rock participates in this endeavor.
Birmingham Lutheran Fellowship
Birmingham campus ministry meetings are Thursday nights, beginning at 6:00 p.m. and lasting about one hour. The meetings are focused on student interests in Christianity.
