Busy Summer for Pensacola Youth

The Youth Group of Grace in Pensacola has had a very busy summer!

First, there was a camping trip to the Appalachian Trail in Georgia. Second, they attended the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Pastor Phil and chaperones took 20 teens to the NYG for a lively five days. There were 22,000 youth and adults attending this event. The objective was to give them the opportunity to get to know other teens from all over the country, to see that other young people have the same issues as they do, and to put them on fire for Jesus. The theme was “In Christ Alone We Stand.” They had the opportunity to join breakout sessions that were topic-specific. There were Bible studies, music, mass events at the Superdome, and servant events in the community which impacted the city of New Orleans. Third, many of the youth participated in Backyard Mission. They did a fantastic job of cleaning up the grounds, repairing buildings and painting the deck on the community building, as well as anything else that was asked of them. That group was truly a blessing to our church.
