Southern District 2008 Educator of the Year Nominations FORMS here

It is the time of the year to nominate a teacher or administrator for the Educator of the Year Award. Four awards may be given annually to Lutheran educators in the Southern District. An award is given to an educator in the area of early childhood (Birth through Kindergarten), to a teacher from one of the district's day schools (Grades 1-12), and two administrators - one serving in early childhood centers and one serving in day schools.

The nominating privilege is extended to congregation members and parents of the schools / preschools / early childhood centers as well as to congregation / school staff members. Upon receipt of the nomination, the Schools’ Committee Chairperson of the Southern District will seek recommendations on the nominees and then with a selection team decide about the recipients. The recipients of the award must be serving in a Southern District Lutheran school / preschool / early childhood center during the 2008-2009 school year and must have at least five years of service in Lutheran schools including the current year. The 2008 awards will be presented during the Southern District Teachers’ Conference in November 2008.

If you would like to take advantage of the privilege to nominate someone for this award, please contact (insert name of local person) for a nomination form. The nomination form must be mailed and postmarked no later than September 23, 2008, in order to be considered. You are encouraged to prayerfully consider nominating a Lutheran educator for this year's award.
