Mission Committee Duties
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Mission Committee shall oversee and coordinate the implementation of the Mission Statement adopted by the Board of Directors and the 1988 District Convention which reads in part: "All mission programs shall be aimed at establishing ministries which will reach out with the Gospel to all people regardless of race, ethnic origin, social or economic status."
In addition, the Mission Committee shall be responsible to the Board of Directors for:
Promoting an increased awareness of evangelism as the church's primary purpose on the part of congregations, all professional church workers, and laity;
Motivating and training God's people to communicate the Gospel of Christ by every means to all people, especially in the community in which they live;
Promoting and leading the District in an aggressive program of winning, keeping, reclaiming and sending individuals with the Gospel;
Assisting congregations initiating or expanding their efforts in social ministry.
