That plan came to fruition in the vision of Ablaze! and the campaign to support that vision, Fan into Flame. Your congregation is part of that great surge in mission activity that leads to saving souls as it builds capacity for Gospel outreach in our congregations, districts, and partners around the world. The Lord has blessed the Fan into Flame efforts as already nearly $30 million in gifts and pledges has been received toward the $100 million goal by July 2010. May God continue to move people across our Synod to respond generously to reach the unreached and uncommitted with the Gospel. Fan into Flame unrestricted funds are distributed quarterly based on an Acts 1:8 model: “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem…Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Congregations (Jerusalem) - 15% District (Judea) - 15% National ( Samaria) - 20% International (Ends of the Earth) - 50% You will note that congregations receive a portion of Fan into Flame money raised that is undesignated or non-restricted from its members to fund local mission projects. These funds are designed to reach out to the uncommitted or unchurched with the Gospel presentation in your community. More importantly, each congregation that participates will provide new resources for the largest mission initiative our church body has undertaken. You will help to fulfill the Ablaze! goals locally and globally, funding vital new ministries designed to spread the Word to those most in need of Christ's love. |
